THE EXPERIENCE
For a descendant, coming here means far more than just visiting a museum.
It means walking in the very places where a father, grandfather, brother, or uncle once walked.
That is why, when a family comes to visit us, we strive to offer something different.
We immerse ourselves in the landscape, visiting various sites and following the traces left by their loved one:
The house where they spent time.
The location of their unit.
The route they took.
The command post.
The encampment.
The defensive position.
The trench.
The place where they were wounded or fought.
And, whenever possible, we meet with local residents who are ready to share a memory, an account, or a detail.
We do not simply recount where the fighting took place; we try to tell the story of where a person lived.
Because behind the uniform, the rank, and the serial number, there was a young man with a family, dreams, and a life—and someone waiting for him back home.
Our goal is to help descendants reconstruct that journey and walk the same paths their loved ones trod eighty years ago.
We do this with deep respect, and the visit is free of charge for descendants. This is not a commercial tour service, but our way of preserving memory and restoring a piece of their history to these families.
